Learn how to use it wisely. en Copyright 2007, Membership Site Building Wed, 17 Oct 2007 07:21:57 EDT Wed, 17 Oct 2007 07:21:57 EDT "Legitimate" Mass E-mail http://www.membershipsitebuilding.com/igroops/msb/blog/VIEW+00000002+00000002#00000002 <img src="http://www.membershipsitebuilding.com/l1/msb/appdata/blog/00000002.jpg" border=0 align=left style="margin-right:5px; margin-bottom:5px;"> In my desperate attempt to find a cheaper method of marketing, I came across many, what appeared to be, "legitimate" opt in e-mail services.  The numbers look great: 3 million emails for $300!  How can you lose?  Answer: it is easier than you think.I am strictly against spam, but not strict opt-in e-mail marketing.  I called this email company that has been in business for 7+ years and talked to the owner about the way they get their lists, how mail is sent, etc.  After I was comfortable, I proceeded with the service.  The mail was sent out over 5 days.  During that 5 days our stats showed many "hits", but here is the amazing part: not one signup, not one inquiry, not even one "get me off your stupid list" -- nothing!In my 13+ years in Internet marketing, I have yet to come across any legitimate e-mail marketing firm that produces acceptable results.  If there are any out there, I would be very interested to find them.BTW - I searched for that company I used and they no longer appear to be online.  I am guessing they change their domain name and "company name" every couple of weeks -- part of the scam.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Comments?
