Split Testing: Don't Bet Your Membership Site's Success On It (Bo)

The first book I read on Google AdWords raved about this concept called "split testing". It is an advertising technique used for years by "old school" (non-Internet) marketers where one control point of a campaign is changed and the results are measured. For example, in a direct mailing, the sales copy would be different on one letter. The letter that gets the most response wins. On the Internet, split testing is used just as much -- but less understood. Ignorant acceptance of this concept can not only lead you down the wrong path, but cost you some serious money.
